    If you have the Pioneer DJM-900 Nexus or 900SRT (Serato) edition, Rane 61, or another mixer that doesn't have Serato DJ controls implemented in the design, you are going to love this unit. It features the same pads from the DDJ-SX, as well as the controls for effects, Slip Mode, looping, sample volume, sync mode, etc. Build quality is sturdy--feels like all metal to me, and it's very easy to use. Plug it in via USB (no AC power required), turn on your SDJ-compatible hardware, and launch the software...you're all set! The size is compact as well, making it easy to slip into any DJ gear bag with all of your other gear.

    Two minor gripes:

    1) The pads would be better if they were multi-colored like on the DDJ-SZ.

    2) I don't see controls on the SP1 for creating/editing beatgrids.

    Yeah, I suppose the price for this could be $100 less, but it's a Pioneer product, so you're buying the name as much as the quality of the product. Either way, I'm very happy with it and would replace it in a heartbeat if it were lost/stolen or broken! Highly recommended.

    I have not used this with Serato DJ yet, because you need a Serato DJ compatible player first, and I'm patiently waiting for the Numark V7 Serato DJ compatibility. In the meantime I have mapped it to djay for mac. Many do not know that the midi maps for djay for mac ALSO work on djay for iPad! You do this using file sharing in iTunes, it's very easy. Just need a powered USB hub to power the DDJ-SP1 and an Apple Camera Connection Kit to connect the iPad as a USB Host. The Apple CCK does not allow power to your iPad however, so make sure your battery is charged if you plan on using this setup. Alternatively you can use the Vestax V-Midi which will provide power to the DDJ-SP1, AND your iPad, but you will need an audio splitter (Griffin etc) on either the V-Midi or your iPad headphone jack, whichever suits your needs best.

    Lets just put it this way if you have cdjs or turntables and your looking for a way to compete with high priced midi controllers this thing is the perfect fit for you. it has 16 hot cue pads, a top notch fx pad section with knobs and a auto kill switch on the effects that lets you get damn creative (you can use multiple effects at once), and it comes with a free download of the full serato video if you buy the sp1 brand new that is.its very sturdy and alot bigger and has more weight on it compared to the reloop neon (which i also have) all in all if you buy this you will 99 percent never need another add on unit or controller ever again i freaking love this bad boy dj toy.

    I love pioneer gear, but I've also been a DJ for over 20 years, I use vinyl and the Rane 62 mixer, so this is a big waste of money for me. First the mixer does everything this does. Second, this is for (in my opinion) push button dj's. I'm not that Dj, I use 2 turntables and not these new midi controllers. Plus this is big, I know it needs to be but it's too big for my liking. If you're a new jack dj this product works great with Serato Dj, it's pre mapped so you plug it in and play. If you're a old school jock, you'll only need this if you don't have a mixer that doesn't hook up usb!! Good luck

    serato使いの方にはおすすめですが、rekordboxをお使いの方は同じ値段でDDJ-XP1があるので、そちらを使ったほうが良いです。
    この機器自体はとても使い勝手が良く、アサイン自体で無限の可能性があると思います。
    正直SP1の形でそのままrekordboxDJに対応してくれたら最高でした。
    DDJ-XP1は他にもrekordbox DJの有料版のコード（15k）やDVSモード（約10k）もあるので実質無料です（笑）
    こちらを買うのは今はあまりおすすめしません。
