tested a simple .png file and a .mp4 file with transparency (transparency set within sampler editor) and got same results with the following plug-ins
Negative - does not work
Spectral - shows division lines but does not react with beat
Shake - does nothing
Strobe - video sample goes back and forth betwen transparency -it over-rides video with black and strobes from black to video with image on top with black where it should be transparent. .png image is static but video is playing in between flashes
Strobe Auto - same as Strobe
ElectricShock2 - no transparency
SBDJ Brightness
BumpMap
ColourBars-V
ColorEnhance
ColourFlood
ColourShift

Negative is indeed an internal plugin that still needs to be fixed.
As for the ones not moving, currently sampler effects take audio input from the sampler as well, so spectral/shake/vibrate should work when combined with audio samples.
I agree that in the case of using the sampler for visuals, audio input should be taken from master instead, so will have to think about a solution for that.
