Topic: Analog Mixer License Needed?
PhillayHome userMember since 2014
Hello,
I am using VDJ 8, with no licenses or controllers at all. If I am connecting to just a basic analog mixer or digital audio interface, do I still need a mixer license? In other words, do I need the AML regardless, if I connect to any outside source- mixer, audio interface or controller?
And if I get the license, how do I configure it in settings?
Thanks.

I guess it depends if you are playing at home or doing it for commercial gain.....

I am just a home DJ and have no plans to make any money from it.

If you use it at home, and just include the mixed output from VDJ on 1 channel, then no

But if you setup VDJ to use external mixer mode, so that you can do the mixing between the decks on the mixer, then yes

In that case you also need a way to get 2 separate outputs from VDJ
One way is to get a multi-output soundcard
Another way is to use a splitter cable, and use 2x mono output

The setup for the "mono way" is shown in the image below, where you can also see it says that you need the analog mixer license

Hello, I'm Razmir from Romania and I'm just at the beggining in this fascinating world of sound.
I just bought a Roland dj-202 and I want to buy a VDJ license for home use.
But there is a lot of noise if I use just the controller with my receiver and speakers so I need a mixer also.
Do I need a license for it?
I play only at home for fun. I'm not even a dj.
If I need also the second license where to buy it from?
And what is the price for the separate license?

Maybe you're not logged in within the software?

If the mixer is midi (digital), is the licence still needed?

a midi device will always need a licence, which one depends on which midi device if you're talking about a home plus licence.
If you're thinking of a pro infinity licence then pro infinity covers all supported hardware.
