Topic: Loud stutter stops music won't produce sound

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Last Saturday while playing a wedding a loud stuttering came through my speakers and stopped the song playing. I use an Alienware laptop and a Dennon MC 6000. Things got real weird, I could not get any sound produced after this happened? Played the other deck and no sound. Restarted VDJ and music loaded and played but no sound! Speakers were fine as the mic continued to work. Controller and VDJ were still communicating just no sound. MY JBL PA has 2 tops and 2 bottoms, each speaker receives it's on direct signal from controller. Any ideas how or why this happened?

You don't give much detail, but potentially it could be your audio driver...

Recently there was a change to VDJ whereby certain Denon ASIO drivers are no longer supported (they're unreliable), so Atomix advise to use WASAPI instead.

There are several threads here about it.

Murphy's law, especially in weddings - the second (or third, depending) most memorable event that can happen that day.

On a serious note though, there has lately been issues with Windows 10 updates and Realtek drivers [1]. Microsoft just released an update which seem to address some of these issues. But also be aware, MS is on a roll when it comes to messing up updates lately... [2]

I had a similar problem on a MacBook Pro 2011 using VSM5. I would frequently get stuttering (especially on startup) that would sometimes resolve and sometimes continue (no sound). Thought it was related to my VMS5. Re-starting and reconnecting were my only recourses. Eventually, I attributed the problem to failing USB drives on the older MacBook. USB drives don't die, they just fade away. Rather than replace the USB, I upgraded to a new MacBook, and all is fine so far. Could be hardware.
