I have several list folders with tracks in them. If I search a track and it comes up in the folder, if I right click on the track, the option to 'remove from this list' is not there. In the same folder, if I scroll down to the same song and right click on it, the option to 'remove from this list' is there. I should be able to remove a track from a list after I've searched it. Seems like a bug to me.

Is the search limited to only songs in the selected folder?
My guess is that searching is not a folder oriented operation, it's a narrowing operation based on the search database, and could include track entries outside of the current list depending on how it's configured.
If the search is narrowed to the current folder then yep I can see the requested behavior as desireable, otherwise it's probably not desired behavior (which folder are you referring to exactly because in that case, your search is global/could return results outside of the selected folder).

I'm performing the search from the 'active' (selected) folder. I'd think all options, including 'remove from this list' would/should be available for the results returned from the folder I'm searching in. The results returned are (what I searched for in that folder) then 'Other Folders' below that.
I understand what you're saying, but in my opinion, not being able to remove a track from a returned folder search is NOT desired behavior.

I’ve reported this several times elsewhere, but the people in charge at VDJ simply refuse to understand!

I could make the plugin for windows if the favour is worth a beer
search find, click, press button,
button saves full path, clears search then scrolls the list [instantly], when it finds it removes from list, or it hits bottom and it wasn't actually in the list
I could add a second button for multiple file cases,
search click, other button, click, same other button, no more clicking needed? press button again and clear search and they'll be removed.

While I understand your explanation, it's absolutely not logical. It simply does NOT fit the workflow.
So, I want to delete a song or songs from a list folder. The folder has 500 tracks in it. I can search for it, but then I have to scroll to the track to remove it?
The logic simply does NOT make sense.
What you're really saying is, "yes, it's wrong but we're going to double down on not fixing it."
"That's just the way it is" is not a logical explanation.
Can we please get this fixed?

I certainly appreciate the effort, but I really feel it's a blatant VDJ flaw.
I guess, if this one continues to be ignored, I'd be willing to contribute beers, but I'd really like to see the VDJ team step up on this one.

- (However) Search context menu could allow for removal from list folders if is done while the browser is located at a folder containing the song

Use the right tool for the job then.. search_playlists
The action opens a window that searches playlists.
Start typing
The results of the list you are currently on show on top
Double click the result to go on the result.
Right click
Remove
If you do it 3/4 times it's a 2 seconds thing to do, and no different than doing a straight froward search.
It also provides extra features as the ability to find the track (and possibly remove it) from multiple playlists.

Apologies. I didn't mean, nor do I ever mean, to come off as rude. Frustrated, maybe. Again, apologies.
Just, in my mind, as well as it seems others, the logic of being able to use the browser search inside a list folder (or any other folder) to find and remove songs from the searched folder is straightforward, simple and efficient. Much more efficient than using search_playlists which works but takes forever (in many of my cases as the song I'm trying to remove may be in several playlists) and is just not the intuitive way to remove a song from a folder you're trying to search in .

I agree with you here that this could be handled from direct search (is search_playlists available from the browser in the default layout?).
