I've been a Professional DJ in the northeast for very close to 20 years. My resume includes Radio, Night Clubs, Mobile, Video & Karaoke. For the last 14 years I've owned a boutique mobile company that caters mostly to Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Sweet 16's & Weddings. In addition to DJing, I am a fully licensed Psychotherapist. I work at an inpatient facility for behavioral healthcare. I specialize in treating psychiatric disorders which coincide with addiction (and no, my patients don't call me DJ Steve -Z-, LOL!). My latest project is to try and combine by entertainment background with my clinical expertise. I've launched Radio Recovery ( www.RadioRecovery.com ) which is an on-line, interactive radio show whose mission is to SPREAD the message of hope that recovery brings. The show is an educational & highly entertaining look into this one-day-at-a-time adventure in recovery that we call life. Each show features guests in recovery sharing their Experience, Strength and Hope. The on-air hosting of the Radio Recovery is by a process driven group panel, rather than the traditional all knowing "expert" host. The show's panel of hosts are a cast of characters that fall somewhere between the accomplished healthcare professionals they are and the DJ's of a Morning Zoo radio show. The hosts interact with the guests by asking poignant questions, and directing the flow of the guest's story so it is of the greatest use possible for the listener who is still sick and suffering.
