Finally broke down and bought a 6x12" trailer to avoid the double loading.

After years of using the best in sound active lighting, I realized how predictable it can get after 2 hours.
So it was time to change that and learn how to use DMX lighting control with the computer.
This was done by first buying the Daslight program, but soon changed to a program called Freestyler with the advice and help of two friends who have some experience with it.
The lights used on this crank truss system are 2 ADJ Accuscan 250's, 2 Optima Scan II's, 2 MBT 750 DMX strobes, 1 Martin EFX 500, 4 Weidamark par 64 LED cans. I have other options including a Chauvet Aurora center piece, Chauvet 400W Black light cannon and 2 DMX multi color lazers to change the look when necessary.

The objective here was to lighten up and add space with current technology.
This box was originally set up with my laptop 3 years ago, and managed to build it all in with minimal weight and height.

Homemade short shelf that allows storage without a full length shelf that fits around the cpu, ($7.00 not $70.00).
The CPU is a Shuttle barebones SN 25P
It has 2000gigs of storage on 4 500 SATA Seagate drives.
Other than the video card, it's a pretty basic system.
The sound card is a U46DJ by ESI, that is the best suited card i've seen with mic, phones and
This has since been updated with an M Audio Fast Track Pro which forfeits the inputs as I don't currently scratch anyway.
This card also offers a second mic input which can be used singly or as a mic mixer input.
The phone jack is also supported with a mixer knob for pre listening or cueing.
Another feature is the 1/4" TRS balanced outputs on the back and the available gain for the phones as well as outputs. I give this card a 10 out of 10.
The monitor is a wide screen 15.5" that supports higher resolutions.
The mount for the monitor was used to mount to the shelf.
Added some 1/4" jacks to the side of the case to ease the card connections.

The drive mounting is critical due to heat, I have converted the floppy and dvd bracket with a 4 drive cluster spacing them apart.
I use a dvd rw in a seperate external enclosure for ripping etc...
Never use it enough to justify carrying it around everywhere I go.
I have also added a 64cfm electic fan with ducts at the other end.
The floppy doors and dvd door have been removed for better airflow around drives.

First advice is to set up a shortcut for CBG adjustment.
I use the letters "G" and "H" as they are right next to each other.
here is how :
1. Go to the "keyboard shortcut" tab at the control panel of Virtual DJ
2. Press "ADD.."
3. Go to "RHYTHM" in the first column
4. Go to "adjust_cbg" in the second column
5. choose the values "default deck" and a value ( in this case -64)
6. Assign it to a keyboard letter THAT IS NOT IN USE for other function (say the letter "g")
Now you have a keyboard shortcut for SMALL adjustment for deck playing. It will move towards the left (negative value)
Do the same as above, but choose the value "+64" and asign it to different letter, say "h".
This will make the same function as above, but move small steps to the right (positive value)
This will make to keyboard shortcuts for small adjustments of CBG to fit beats.

Then:
Cue up the first down beat of your track.
Open the bpm editor and click Anchor 1 "set beat".
Then start the track and count out 32 beats and pause it.
Now, align the grid which you can now move with the keyboard shortcut you created.
Now, click Anchor 2 "set beat" and close the editor.
This will set the proper bpm and align the CBG all in one move.
