I have for a long time now been looking for the perfect small pro mixer
to use with VDJ, my laptop and my HDJC. But still haven't found any i like.
Sure, there are some small and "cheap" mixers out there. But they never
have the features i want. Today i use a Gemini 10" mixer and i think it's
a little to big to carry around.
BTW: You really don't need the HDJC to use it ;-)
So i finally decided to build my own VDJ dedicated mixer to get just what
i want in features etc.
Features:
- Really small (160mm * 160mm * 30mm)
- 4 assignable line inputs
- 3 band EQ with rotary kill
- Mixable Cue function
- A/B - Master selectable VU
- Mic EQ
- Buttons to controll all important features in VDJ
- Cheap to build ( $99 for material goal ).
- Etc.
Since i don't use the Crossfader a lot i will do 2 different X-fader designs
to choose from:
- Standard, simple one ( Can be removed ).
- Advanced with reverse switch, contour function etc ( On Front panel ).
I have just finished the front panel design and are now working
to finalize the schematics. ( CUE Vol is on the front )
And yes, i will share schematics etc later if anyone wants them.
More info about this project will be added soon.
Update #1:
Button bank select function makes all buttons have 2 functions.
22 User def buttons available now.
