TRACK INFO DISPLAY

2 DECK & 6 DECK

Once a track is loaded to a deck, the track’s Info such as Artist, Title, Time, Cover, BPM, Key and Gain will be displayed in this area. The track will be analyzed and the song position (progress) will be displayed.

  1. Deck Indicator - The Deck Indicator highlights the current active or working deck. It will switch automatically to the opposing deck when a song is loaded but can also be clicked on manually to bring the preferred deck into focus.

  2. Cover Display - Displays the album artwork of the loaded track (if any). If no artwork for the track is available the display will show plain text. Clicking on the Cover of the track will provide a menu to open the Tag Editor, BPM Editor or POI Editor for the loaded track.

  3. Title and Artist - Displays the title, artist and remix (displayed in brackets if available) of the track according to the tagged information. This information can be modified in the Tag Editor.

  4. Tempo, Gain & Key - This displays the current tempo (Beats Per Minute) of the deck, the current output level (Gain), and the Key. The key display can be changed to 3 different values by clicking on the key value (Harmonic, Name or None).

  5. Tap - Use the Tap button to manually calculate the BPM of the track by tapping to the beat 4 times. Right-click on the button to open the BPM Editor to perform more advanced and precise Tempo and Beat/Phase corrections if required. If the track is stopped, clicking on the Tap button will set it’s current position as the “First Beat” without changing the tempo (shifts phase).

  6. Waveform & Progress Indicator - Displays the track waveform and current position as well as any cue points or other marked Points Of Interest (see POI Editor).

  7. Time Display - There are two time displays present in this section. Clicking on the first Time Display will toggle between Elapsed and Remaining times of the current track. The second Time Display shows the total time of the track loaded into the deck but when clicked on will also display elapsed or remaining times (whichever is not displayed in the first time display).

4 DECK

The 4 Deck Info Display is more condensed to accommodate the additional decks without sacrificing browser space. Once a track is loaded to a deck, the track’s Info such as Artist, Title, Time, Cover, BPM, Key and Gain will be displayed in this area. The track will be analyzed and the song-position (progress) will be displayed.

  1. Cover Display - Clicking on the Cover of the track will provide a menu to open the Tag Editor, BPM Editor or POI Editor for the loaded track. Right clicking on the Artist will will hide/show the cover display on the deck.

  2. Title and Artist - Displays the title, artist and remix (displayed in brackets if available) of the track according to the tagged information. This information can be modified in the Tag Editor.

  3. Tap - Use the Tap button to manually calculate the BPM of the track. Right-click on the button to open the BPM Editor to perform more advanced and precise Tempo and Beat/Phase corrections if required. If the track is stopped, clicking on the Tap button will set it’s current position as the “First Beat” without changing the tempo (shifts phase).

  4. Time Display - Clicking on the first Time Display will toggle between Total and Elapsed times of the current track. The second Time Display shows the Remaining time of the track loaded into the deck but when clicked on will also display an alternative time (whichever is not displayed in the first time display).

  5. Tempo, Key & Gain - displays the current tempo of the deck and is displayed in BPM (Beats Per Minute), the key and gain (current output level of the track). The key display can be changed to 3 different values by clicking on the key value (Harmonic, Name or None).

  6. Master Deck - The MASTER deck is indicated in orange. If the deck is set to MASTER all decks will sync to it (if SYNC is pressed on the opposing decks). Usually the Master deck is the deck that plays out "live", which in most cases is the playing deck with the higher volume. VirtualDJ uses internal criteria to automatically set the Master Deck each time.

The Master deck can be set manually by clicking on the grey MASTER text in another deck (will become orange). Once a deck is manually selected as MASTER, automatic selection stops and each deck from that point will need to be manually set as the Master deck if it requires changing. Right-clicking on any of the MASTER texts or clicking on the orange text of the current MASTER deck will revert back to the auto-selection setting.

  7. Waveform & Progress Indicator - displays the track waveform and current position.
