Topic: What can you do with the USB Host ports on a controller?
SepatroPRO InfinityMember since 2019
This is probably a really basic question, but I can't figure out how to make use of my 2 USB host ports on my controller (it is a Roland DJ 808). Can I stick an USB into it with mp3s? (I can't make it work). Is there a way to have an audio stream over USB? (and, what are the formats to use)? Any help would be useful, as the manual doesn't explain this...

From the DJ808 product page on Roland's web site:

"two AIRA Link ports let you connect compatible synths and electronic gadgets, and produce a live remix, with just a simple USB cable"

Thanks - but it remains very vague. Are there any standards? What can I connect?...

On this particular controller ?
Devices that support "AIRA Link"
Which devices are those ? I have no clue.
You should really ask Roland.

Which devices? Were they Roland AIRA devices?

It seems indeed that only devices supporting this (non-)standard are supported. So, pretty useless for me - but no big deal, the controller itself is really great...
