Does anyone know if there's any plans for itch to support video?

Inviato Wed 26 Aug 09 @ 9:19 pm
I'm pretty sure itch will eventually have that capability. Serato Scratch live runs videos therefore they have the knowledge to implement it inside itch if they want to. Scratch live advertises it as an add on plugin that you have to buy for 200 dollars

I guess Itch is just a watered down version of SSL the same as VDJ console edition?

so will this support NS7?

Inviato Fri 28 Aug 09 @ 3:21 pm
just tried it out, and it does have a mapper for the ns7.

it clearly works a lot better than the 1.4.1 beta version, but it is not perfect yet.
some functions like bleep don't work like they should ( or do in itch)
i can't get the headphone to work
and the delayd start stop function doesn't work.
sync does work but the buttons flashes in a non logical way
i found what appears to be a bug in the config menu, when sliding the sound quality bar from fastest to quality while playing, virtual dj
freezes for 10 seconds or so and then catches up with lost time by playing the song in 400 bpm.
that was just my first impression after 20 minutes of work.
I do use windows 7 so some issues might be os related, but i doubt it

cant wait until itch2 drops.

Inviato Fri 28 Aug 09 @ 4:37 pm
yeah me too,
cause vdj still doesn't work as wel as i had hoped with the ns7.
the two main irritations with itch for me are the bmp sync that frequently is off
and the auto loop function which is off after a few runs ( sometimes) but the loop probelm is probably related to the bmp count
but offcourse i would still see the ns7 work as well with vdj as my hercules rmx.

what a major disappointment for that 6.02 update...1 st no headphone... I mean what is a DJ without headphones!!!...2nd while playing and typing in the search bar i get audio drops for every keystroke..how is that gonna sound when I'm out there tring to please the crowd... its seems like VDJ is going backwards with their updates..I ve been using 5.2 with denons 4500 controller for the longest time without a single glitch. I think of im gonna use my NS7 its gonna be with that basic itch.. lets hope that Itch 2.0 will be the one to make me happy.

IMPORTANT: DRIVER INSTALLATION

Before using the NS7 with Numark Cue, you must install the NS7 driver.

Windows:
If you have not already installed ITCH you must install the driver separately.
You can download the latest version of the NS7 driver from HYPERLINK "http://www.numark.com/ns7" http://www.numark.com/ns7

Mac:
To enable your computer to communicate with the NS7 you must first Install the latest build of Itch, this will also install the NS7 midi drivers.

You can download the latest version of Itch from
http://www.serato.com/downloads/itch

STEP 1: SOUND SETUP

Windows:
On the sound options tab please choose the following options:
[Configuration > Sound Setup]

Inputs : None
Outputs : Headphones
Card : Asio
Driver : Numark USB Audio Device
Channels 1/2 main 3/4 Headphones
Press APPLY.

Mac:
On the sound options tab please choose the following options:
[Configuration > Sound Setup]

Inputs : None
Outputs : Headphones
Card : 4/4 Card
Driver : Numark USB Audio Device
Channels 1/2 main 3/4 Headphones
Press APPLY.

STEP 2: PERFORMANCE SETTINGS

This step is important for both PC and MAC users.

The performance slider allows a user to set the resources made available to Cue.

Please go to the performance tab [Configuration > Performances]

Please set latency to “Auto” and ensure that “Safemode” and “Overclock” are UNCHECKED

Set the performance slider halfway between “Fastest” and “Best”

Now proceed to test the unit, if you find your system is performing well increase the slider one step towards “Best”

Now retest with the new setting if the unit performs well move the slider closer to “Best” Repeat this until you reach “Best” or you notice performance issues. If you notice a performance issue move the slider back to the last position.

Scrolling is okey now, but the CPU usage is about 17% higher than my HC4500.
20%-27% while playing, 45-70% when loading MP3 and 60%-85% when loading WMA.
Is that normal??
Macbook Pro(Latest) 2.8ghz/4GB DDR3 ram.(XP Pro/Bootcamp)

Used it for about 2 hours on i GIG tonight, it,s great to work with and the sound from NS 7 is fantastic.
I,m a little worried about the CPU usage, do i risk anything running with this CPU usage???

Will there also be a VV update for the NS7? Or will I need to crossover to VDJ? Sorry if this question has already been asked/answered.
