could anyone explain the difference between hot cues and cues?

Hot Cue is for create a Cue Point and Cue is for go at some of your hot cue that you have placed.

More specifically the hot_cue is for setting a cue while the song is playing whereas the cue can only be set when the song is stopped. As for play back, hot_cue will play from the cue point and cue will only play as long as you hold the button down.
