+ 1 for doing it properly but as a workaround...I think that this could to be built into skins as seperate wave pannels that change when the gain knob changes, but it wouldn't be based on the actual wave level of the music, you should ask in the skin forum for it to be included

I read the topic twice, and i still cant imagine how that would be useful.
The size of the waveform is up to the height of the waveform window(panel). So if the waveform size is small for you, simply choose a skin with larger waveform or modify the skin you use.

+1.
So you can visually match levels of the tracks.

The waveform is designed to give you frequencies not levels. A VU meter is much more inclined to show you the gain level.

Correct, but his "wish" is to be able to use it for level matching. Also, why couldn't it do both? Level and frequency?

Correct again. But VDJ's VU functionality & accuracy could use some revamping and calibration.

Thank you.

i dont think its such a bad idea, if you dont have auto gain volume leveling on it would be a nifty little extra as a reminder to level your volumes. im sure everyone at some point has forgot to vlolume level some tracks due to doing other things.

I downloaded MIXXX 1.9.0. to see exactly what fer14 was talking about.

Adjusting the gain and having a corresponding change in waveform size just makes sense.

Very useful.

You immediately see the change in gain on the VU meters.
