Topic: VDJ DJC EDITION HELP!

Hey forum,

Recently I bought the Hercules RMX controller. As you may know the CD comes with 2 different installations. The first installation is the VDJ DJC Edition witch i was successfully able to install. but the second installation, the DJ Console RMX Drivers i was not. What ends up happening is that it says

"Macntosh HD: DJ series install package can't be installed on this disk. a newer version of the software already exists on this disk."

I think the reason why this is happening is because i had downloaded the VDJ home edition (free) before (correct me if i'm wrong). So i ended up deleting everything that had to do with VDJ home edition (free) but it is still occurring! PLEASE HELP ME GUYS I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!!

Please ensure that you have the latest DJ Console drivers and firmware installed. The drivers on the installation CD may be out-of-date and/or incompatible with your operating system (If you have MacOS Lion)

Please also ensure that you have the most recent version of VirtualDJ Console Edition installed. Register your serial number on the page http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html and then download the installation file from:

Thank you for replying! I was able to install both the drivers and the VirtualDj DJC without a problem but when I try to open VDJ i get an error that sais:

Invalid skin file (error line %i in the xml)

Please help!!!

Which error ?

The one about the drivers not being able to install or the one about the skin ?

I have done all the steps recommended in the FAQ about this "skin error" not opening the VDJ DJC Edition app. Still nothing... I have also registered the product with the serial number. It just wont open :( My product is the Hercules DJ Control MP3 e2 and because the mac drivers in the cd was obsolete, I downloaded and installed them from the download center. I have done anything and I'm out of solutions. Please help

What version of OS X are you using ?

Similarily (but a bit more radical) to the FAQ, I would recommend the following:

- Delete the main Virtual DJ program from Applications

- Delete the Virtual DJ folder in Document

- Delete the file com.atomixproducts.virtualdj.plist from User > Library > Preferences folder

Empty the trash, then proceed to the installation of the latest VDJ update you found in the Download Center.


As for the console itself, you have the latest drivers from the Hercules suport site, correct ?

Yes, I do have the latest Drivers from the Hercules support site.

My OS X is 10.7.4

I have done everything above, except for emptying the trash. I'll do the steps again and see If it works... Thank you for the reply :D

YES! THIS WAS THE SOLUTION! NOW IT IS FINALLY WORKING. EMPTYING THE TRASHING CAN WAS WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE IN ORDER FOR IT TO WORK AFTER THE STEPS MENTIONED IN F.A.Q. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP :D

Hi I have just purchased the pioneer xdj r1 all in one unit and it says i get a copy of vdj le but how do i go about getting it,there is only 1 disc for rekordbox software but nothing for vdj.
There is a serial number on the bottom of the unit but just cant seem to figure it out!!its probably so simple but i just want to get started

I can see you have found teh VDJ Le licence key.

After you have it registered, you will find inside your personal downlaod center the actual LE version for download.
