I recently bought a mk4 from a friend of mine, but I ran into a few problems.
I installed the drivers correctly, and the lights would light up on the controller. The controller would also show up in the mappers for Virtual DJ Pro 7.
The main problem now is that the lights on the controller wont even light up anymore. I checked my device manager and now it's listed as an "unknown device" I have tried reinstalling the drivers many times. I have tried different USB ports. I have tried connecting it while holding the Mic On/Off button. Also the Hercules DJ Series Control Panel shows an "x" on the icon. The first two choices are also unavailable.
I'm thinking that it's a problem with the controller itself, but I hope it isn't since I just blew $100 on it =/

btw I am running Windows 8 with an i7 and 8gb of ram.

this happend to me ... get a new usb cable and try it with a usb2.. no hub..
