Anyone else tried streaming to the VDJ site and had any luck? Tried it earlier and VDJ said it was streaming, but friend unable to get it to play, and I wasn't able either from another machine here...

I was playing with VDJ 8 for the first time and the PC to PC broadcast seems to not be working. I have laptop and second computer side by side. Nothing is happening on the computer trying to listen to the stream.

Thanks guys. VDJ8 shows 0 Clients by the way.

Is this the same setup needed for a PC to PC connection? I was thinking that VDJ8 and the VDJ website where talking back and fourth. This would be hard to adjust web router settings when out on location to stream live feeds at different venues.

Most broadcasting solutions use port 8000 on a router. Agreed if you out on location it might not be easy.

I can't think of another alternative though

Yes, I have played from my PC to friends on V7 many times, also played on VDJRadio for at least 7 years in total, and have tried streaming to listen2myradio.com which works fine. It's just the new streaming that doesn't work for me. Will double check the ports now though.

If you have any kind of streaming working then the ports are fine.

Can you start a broadcast then post the link here and i'll whether i can hear you?

It looked like it was trying.

There was a brief appearance of the player and text said "Listen to..." rather than "....is not broadcasting".

edit - the listen2 one works

Yep ok - the 2nd one works.

Did you check your ports? I assume they are ok as the 2nd one is working.

Can you go into settings: advanced and change
broadcastDirectFormat to MP3

I can't get streaming to work on VDJ 8 either. My Shoutcast DNAS page says I am up and running but if I try to listen using Real Player, Winamp etc I get an error message or nothing happens. I have been using VDJ 7 for streaming for years into Second Life with no problems and luckily it still works, but I want to use the shiny new VDJ 8 :)

I can only use shoutcast there... doesn't work with icecast on the free hosting...
