Should vdj8 be creating remix points on its own. many of my tracks have them that i did not create and they are in really poor spots.

It does for me too, I'd guess that it is intentional but clarification would be nice.
As for the position it's probably V8's best guess so remix points can be used without a user having to set them (until the user realises that they're wrong)
