My crossfader is doing weird things, it keeps on moving from the left to the right about 1cm and when i put it in the middle on my hercules dj control instinct it displays it way more to the left

Make sure that the crossfader you see on the VIrtualDJ skin is the AUDIO crossfader and not the VIDEO one (which can have diferent values if the AUTO is enabled in the VIDEO panel)
If the AUDIO crossfader on the screen doesnt follow the hardware one, then the hardware (your unit) send faulty MIDI message about its position. Mainly due to dust or another generic hardware fault.
My suggestion is to contact with Hercules Support Center or your local Hercules Service Center
