I've just noticed that VDJ 8 now insists on being on top of everything in Windows, all the time.
This makes it impossible to cycle through open windows or to have another window open on top of VDJ.

It happens to me sometimes too. To switch to another window you have to minimize VDJ, but when you call it to screen again alt+tab still doesn't work. It shows the window you've selected for a 0.5 second and VDJ pops up on top.

Does this to me to. Annoying as all get out. I use several support apps while DJing.
