Topic: Crash build 2245

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I was playing with VDJ8 for about two hours (or slightly less) build 2245.
Suddenly I noticed that VDj had high CPU usuage (like 35-50 %) Also verified through task manager it was VDJ8 which use CPU.
The skin FPS were down to 15 (normally 30), no audio drop-outs though.
I stopped the decks and let it be for a while, and after a while I noticed that PC had crashed and had to be re-started.
is it possible for you, Atomix to see if it was generated a crashlog?

You can check yourself if a crashlog was generated:

Just type in %temp% into an Explorer or Start - Run.
Now the local app data temp folder should open. Search for a .dmp file at the approx. time the system crashed.

No VDJ crash log was uploaded I'm afraid, but if the PC crashed I wouldn't expect it to.

Thanks for checking and how I check for myself. This actually happened twice with this build, never seen it before.
Will see if I can investigate this a bit more if/when it happens again.

When checking "performance" in task manager, one of the cores were very high CPU usuage. The other 3 low. (actually two cores and two logical)

I'm trying to push my system to find out what's happening. Why it crashes.
I noticed that after playing a song, and both decks stopped, and have sound FX active (reverb, echo, flanger and phaser) on the audio cpu usage goes up sometimes beyond 100%.
Both times these crashes occoured while not playing any song.
As long as both tracks play the audio cpu usage goes down to very low numbers.
It seems somehow, also the CPU usage goes up when no audio is playing.

I took some screenshots when these odd behaviour happened showing VDJ and task manager and resource monitor if it's any help.

Tried it on my other PC. Same thing, even worse:

It has something to do with FX being turned on when no audio is playing.

Is it happening with any of these effects, or can you reproduce with a specific one?

It seems that Reverb and Phaser adds most to the "Audio" reading of CPU usage.

Please note that I also have a few screenshots of the resource monitor , which shows really weird CPU operation during this.
Let me know if you want those screenshots mailed to you.

Can you open the following file in Notepad "native_Reverb.ini" and copy-paste data here please, the same for phaser.

Reverb and Phase are plugins that go on working when the song is stopped (flag VDJFLAG_PROCESSAFTERSTOP). You are right they use more % audio (after stopping the song with plugin activated) than if the song is playing.

The issue has been found and will be fixed in the next build :)

That is really great news indeed :)
I have put a few hours in trying to investigate this issue - it feels good that you could catch it!! Good work Atomix

Does it mean you do not need something from those ini files?
