No real difference, other than there's performance and stability added to El Capitan which are not present in the older versions of OS X. However, I must stress that even though VDJ supports El Capitan, your controller hardware may not. Please check to ensure your manufacturer has released compatibility notes or drivers for your applicable hardware.
