Hi all - I have just purchased the monthly VirtualDJ license subscription and trying to now use my Traktor Kontrol S4 with MAC OS - controller is playing music but that is it (master button is lit up but nothing else) - can’t use any controls or functions. I’m not the most technology-minded but was pretty sure I could do this!
Any pointers please?

The mk1 isn't natively supported by vdj, It's the same one I have, you need to download the mapping file from downloads, you also need to have the s4 running in midi mode [in midi mode the loop counter doesn't show a number it just constantly says 'on'] [midi mode is accessed by pressing and holding shift and browser buttons when turning on, there is a knack to it you have to wait till the lights just start light.
you also need to set all encodes to relative and all buttons to gate in native's controller editor.
