Starting from Build 3568 (currently in Early Access), Pioneer DJM-S9 is now natively supported.
Operation manual : http://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/hardware/pioneer/djms9.html
Note
For those who have been using the DJM-S9 Add-on (has been removed now), keep in mind that the Add-on's mapping files (definition & default mapping in /Devices folder) will not work. The implemented files will now be used, so please make sure your custom mapping files work properly with the native definition before going live.

The new firmware has been tested and found no issues regarding VirtualDJ compatibility.
Therefore, it is safe to update, even though no features or improvements are offered in this version..

The default mapping files support 2 FX Banks for software Effects, but you will need to install this Addon http://www.virtualdj.com/plugins/index.html?addonid=80552
It automatically gets installed to the AutoStart Plugins folder , so you dont need to select/enable it

I tried submitting a ticket, tried contacting you guys on Facebook, but I still have not received help.
Just got myself the Pioneer DJM-S9 and while you guys announced it's officially supported, it doesn't work right when using it with Virtual DJ. I updated my Mac to macOS 10.12.2, updated both the drivers and firmware for the Pioneer DJM-S9, made sure Virtual DJ was up to date, and it still doesn't work 100%. Thinking about returning it but wouldn't want to go through that hassle. Help me out?

Found that Early Access is what I needed. Thanks so much! I recommend in the future announcing that's a requirement when announcing certain hardware is natively supported to avoid confusion.

You should always check the hardware support forum for things like this. There is always a thread stating requirements for newly supported controllers.
