Hello I'm looking to get one of these family plan premium services so that my family can control thier music on thier Android at anytime without bugging me. I also want to use the same service in VDJ as a backup. Which one is the best? I basically wants the one that would have the that strange request because all the popular stuff my pool provides. I'm now in Germany and I get request for so many German songs. Please don't tell me about which one is allowed in public and such. Please only tell which one is the best from your experience. I'm hoping to purchase a subscription today. Thanks

Why don't you try them both? There's also the option of Pulselocker in the latest VDJ update - which you can use in public.

If you have an amazon echo you want to link the account to, then maybe spotify. I have deezer now which is promised soon and I switched from spotify to deezer because of the extreme download speed. Pulselocker is very fast and allows caching but I don't see yet any news about pulselocker for any device.

Deezer is currently better that Spotify in VDJ, because the download speed is not limited when using Deezer. Spotify have limited the download speed to about 1.5 times playing speed

they all have free trials you could try them out and make an informed decision on your own :-)

Unless this is been changed.... When I tested Spotify in VDJ8.. it works great, however, you would turn to it for strange off the wall requests but as far as I seen, there is not search function for Spotify or Deezer.. it seems I have to have already added to a playlist before seeing it in VDJ8...which to me.renders the whole idea useless when you have pools.

When you stand on spotify or deezer, just use the normal search. It gives you the Spotify and Deezer results. It was there from the beginning.

When I do it I only get results that I have added to a playlist through spotify

I cancelled my spotify subscription, so I can't test it any more. On Deezer it still works.

Hi guys,
I found a very useful thing regarding search on Deezer/Spotify that I don't see anyone mentioned.
How I have it set up is that when I search for a song, VDJ will always first look for it locally, and only if there are no results, it will try to find it online. I only have Deezer, but presume it works the same for other services.
Here's how to make it work:
On the right hand side of the search input field (in the browser section of VDJ) there is a "search options" button (looks like a little dot on default skin). There you can select "Search Online with Content Unlimited". Turn it on and a check mark appears.
One line underneath it is "Content Unlimited options" where you can select only Deezer or Spotify catalogs to be searched and the best option: "Only use ContentUnlimited when no local results".
My understanding is that "ContentUnlimited" in these menus is used as a name for all online services, probably will get changed sometime down the road.
That way, you don't have to go specifically to Deezer/Spotify in the left menu to search for a song in their catalog.
Would like to see offline caching for Deezer, but even more, I'd like the search to perform faster. I use a 4G wireless router and the loading of songs works extremely well and fast. The next day of the gig, I buy the songs I played from Deezer, so that way I minimize my dependency on it.
