Topic: New to VDJ - some guidance please

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hi Guys, I recently bought an iDJ3 on a whim secondhand. I'm an oldskool (age as well as tunes lol) dj, haven't put 2 tunes together since I sold my 1210's and Vestax a few years back. Got the yearning to slap a few together, so here we are.

So, I kinda like like the digi decks, but I can't get mine working the way I want them to. I want to set this shit up like physical decks, like hit play then drop the beat in off the push on the deck. Mine don't do this, just use the play button lol.

Second, can I / how do I set and store cue breaks ?

Please help an oldskool fella enjoy himself and get this going lol.

TIA

Yes, if your jog-wheels are touch-sensitive, which I think they are, and you enable vinyl mode, you can "hold" the track on the jog-wheel, press play, and then push it forward

If you mean regular cue and hot cues:
Each track has one regular cue you use by clicking the cue button, and all the hot cues you need.
Those hot cues may however not be mapped to your controller, so you may need to remap a few of the buttons you don't use to hot cues
On v8 the regular cue is temporary, but all the hot cues automatically get stores with the track

I would recommend reading the manual to get more into digital DJing - compared to old-school setups the possibilities may feel a nit like going from a bycycle to a spaceship, but it's really worth it:

Also you can see how your controller is mapped by default here:

Finally: It looks like you are currently a home edition user.
You need some kind of license for VDJ to work with your controller for more than a 10 min test period.
You can get a full license, a subscription, a controller license and so on.
You can look into that here:
