Hi,

I'm needing to change the spotify account in the virtualdj 8 spotify plugin. However it doesn't seem to want to log in to my new account.

I've tried logging out and removing the libspotify.dll and the spotify folder from the Virtual dj folder.... but when I sign in again it just shows all the playlists from the original spotify account!

Any hints or help?

Close VDJ, have a look in the settings.xml file (take a backup first) and clear the text that contains your account name

<spotifyLogin>**************</spotifyLogin>

Save the file and try restarting VDJ.

Thanks Kradcliffe,

I've checked that out. It's actually showing the correct login account in the settings file. So it's obviously logging into the correct Spotify account, just showing the playlists from the old account.... hmmm the mystery deepens... :-)

Try to also clear cache and cookies in your Internet Explorer
The old login may be stored in there, and I think VDJ uses IE for the Spotify access

I think the IE cleanup applies to Deezer rather than Spotify, but yes even if you don't use it the app does (apparently)

Nope... doesn't work. Cleaned the cache and cookies in Internet explorer... deleted the spotify files in the Virtual dj folder and reinstalled the plugin...

... and it still shows the old playlists! Aaaghrrrr :-)

I've just updated to vdj8.2 b3848 and that seems to have fixed this problem which is great :-)

I don't know whether that is because of the new install or whether the bug is fixed in the new version...

Oh well, happy days anyway. Glad you're sorted.

Ironically I had problems logging in at my gig last night so I had to shut down VDJ, delete everything to do with Spotify and start again.

At least I had the MCX8000 standalone player to bale me out.

Just had this response to my ticket:

"Hello,
There was a fix added to the latest public: Spotify logout fix
This is what more than likely fixed your issue."

So I guess that is the answer... :-)
