playlists disappearing and hard drive getting ejected
I was working on my playlists and then it crashed, next time it was scanning slowly.
then it said my external hard drive was not there
all the data i entered into the playlist disappeared

Your issue has nothing to do with VirtualDJ itself.
Your issue is relevant to the HARD DRIVE itself, or it's connection with your PC.
So, first check the connection on the USB port(s) in case it's becoming loose.
Second, use BRAND NEW USB cable(s) (even if you consider the ones you're using new ones)
Finally, if the problem persists, check the drive itself with any kind of Diagnostics application you can find (depending on your OS and drive)
