You can use any skin. You don't have to use one that looks like your controller.

I know this is an old thread... But I am looking for a skin that will show me the three different effects (FX 1, 2, 3) instead of just FX1. Any recommendations?
I finally figured out how to enable FX 2 and FX 3.. lol.. so I'd like to know what effect I have selected for each at a glance. Thanks in advance.

Well there's the default VDJ skin for a start. There are more skins that do/can show all three FX than those that can't/don't.
