I've rarely had to adjust the gain for my genre(s). I'd say like 2 or 3 songs per 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Only time i ever really need to change the gain of my tracks if A) they havent been analysed and B) if they are not from a good source or quality.
99.9% of the time I hardly ever have to change the gain of my tracks, plus i find it great that VDJ remembers the gain of each track too.

It does occasionally mess up on a few songs. Sometimes it seems to react to a single loud noise at the beginning or end (applause maybe on live tracks). Other times it greatly reduces the gain for no apparent reason. I don't have any experience with other software so I don't know how it compares. Anyway I prefer to use the set_gain 0 on a button and adjust from there. I like the gain to stay where I put it.
