You've already got a full license, according to your profile.
That doesn't entitle you to free music though. If you want music, you have to buy it.
There are online services within VDJ that offer streaming, but the music is rented - it doesn't belong to you.

Some subsciptions allow you to download/cache the songs for offline use.
By default this is in /documents/virtualdj/cache/ (but can copy to usb to transfer)
Keep in mind, in nature of subscription, you can only use the songs inside the software (DRM protected)

If you mean songs you have downloaded from music store or other pools, they can be stored on USB yes.
VirtualDJ works fine with music on usb drive
