I play on my MacBook Air keyboard without a controller. Previously when I loaded a song, especially in a fast mix, I pressed the CUE button to adjust my pace and then hit PLAY with the correct timing. A couple of updates back the CUE button behaviour has changed so I have to select a deck by doing anything with it first for the CUE button to start working, it does not work otherwise. My playing technique relies on the prior CUE button behaviour very heavily, so any help on how I could revive it would be welcome.
P.s.: I have tried many different mapping presets, changing cue button behaviour in the little pop-up thing right on the deck.

If you mean using a keyboard shortcut, check the searchByFirstLetter option
