When I connect my external hard drive it says VDJ dosnt have permission to access. This is in my MacBook Pro. I have already allowed VDJ access in privacy within system preferences (which seems to be location services. Is there something else I can do or try. Any help would be appreciated.

You should give VirtualDJ permission to access all files and drives.
It's under the "Files and Folders" tab, not under Location.
Location permission is another thing.
