I bought this MacBook Pro as a refurb and it maxes out on 10.13 "High Sierra". I installed Virtual DJ Pro so it can serve as a backup in case my newer one fails at a gig. When I try to launch I get "Graphics failed to initialize." Searching the forums the closest I can find to this error is DirectX errors under windows. Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you sure there is no 10.13 update available (like some newer 10.13.x) ?
10.13 is indeed the minimum Mac OS requirement, but there is a chance this is not valid anymore.

It's an early 2011 MacBook Pro 15 inch, with 2GHz Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM and an AMD Radeon 6490M 256MB Intel Graphics 3000 512 MB and running 10.13.6.
