Topic: Pitch Quality & scratch filter quality
according to the help description on both of these options...the best settings for scratching is the current max of 4 and 30 respectively....and both of them 'requires fast cpu'...
what does happen if the cpu isnt fast enough?
dropouts? innaccurate scratch?

Sounds like you've answered the question. If you have a machine that meets the Recommend Requirements it should be fine (my machine is an M1 MacBook meeting the specs described and I run with those two set at highest quality with no issues).

do u achieve benefits in terms of scratching with these max values as compared to with lower values???

Tbh I've never done any real testing with the various values, and I had used the defaults for a while until I learned about them pretty much without issue.
I switched to the highest quality for each out of the assumption that I could get the best performance for scratching/timestretching as a result.

I've never really done any testing on the scratch quality setting. I assume that would also require better scratching skills than i have to notice anything :)

But Pitch Quality is pretty easy to test, and also verify that you don't get quality decline or dropouts with higher values

Here is an example:

It should of course get better with higher values, like you can hear in the video
(yes, you can/will get a tiny drop out right when you change the quality value, but that doesn't really matter)

I've personally never had a DJ laptop that couldn't handle the max value of 4

great video!
can clearly hear the differences it makes.
But in theory these 'glitches' are sort of what makes scratching sound more like real vinyl...as many djs scratch with master tempo off...i am not entirely sure that vdj automatically disables master tempo when scratching..but was told so in here somewhere...
IMO these 2 values sound good naturally..but creates a tiny bit of delay in scratch performance

VirtualDJ is actually more aggressive than Serato for instance, in disabling master tempo for scratching if it is on (you'll notice it most in doing speed up nudges)...and as a result I think it's closer to the vinyl feel/harder to scratch + drop precisely with it, but if you practice with it, it will make you better. I personally don't find any serious issues (maybe pitch change response only) with the software, and remember, the main VirtualDj page hosts many well well respected DJs (Q-Bert and Erik Jay immediately come to mind) doing actual routines with VirtualDJ, so you don't even have to take my or others (relatively unknown) word for it.

Well finally!
I already wrote that in fact pitch quality 1 sounds much better than pitch quality 2, 3 or 4, and now I understand why they disagreed with me. Yes, in the video provided, pitch quality 4 sounds better than 1, but such a strong change in pitch is almost never required. Usually, pitch changes slightly to match tracks with similar bpm. And in this case, you can clearly hear that setting 2, 3 or 4 immediately makes the track much quieter and worse, it is enough to shift the pitch by at least 1%. At the same time, with setting 1, the track sounds the same as the original, and the artifacts that appear with a strong change in pitch are not noticeable with a slight change. And in fact, it turns out that pitch quality 1 is the only working option. You can do your experiment, just change the pitch a little, by 1-3 bpm, and compare the quality of pitch 1 and pitch 4

Of course all this is relevant with master tempo on
