Just a few posts above I said that I use it as my main controller (among Opus Quad) and I also pointed to some mixes on YouTube that were done with XDJ-AZ

So yes, there are people that are using it with VirtualDj.

And the mixer can only function in "External Mixer" mode since that's how AlphaTheta designed the device.
 
George, is the cassette tape graphic used on your YouTube mix a VDJ Videoskin?
 
No, it's not a videoskin. It's an Adobe AfterEffects template.

But if you want something like that on a videoskin it's fairly easy to do (even up to the cassette reel changing length I think)
Even a photorealistic one would be easy to do.

Let me know if you really want something like this and perhaps I'll make something

Good to know, I'm assuming the FX on this thing are a step up from VDJs 'factory' installed FX, external mode has to be a plus overall.

Yes, I'd be interested (and probably others here too). I had a rough idea of how it could be written as a videoskin, which is what made me ask. I hadn't considered making the reels change size, but presumably that would be similar to the progress circle on the jogwheels (default VDJ skin).

The reels winding the tape is a little more complicated than I thought, but it is possible.
It will just take a day or two to finish..

PS: The background is a shader.

It's a shame there's no income from VDJ addon downloads anymore, as TSI and I would've accepted 25% each (50% for you as designer) :-)

I mean you're not wrong, George and Loco have saved my ass more than a few times. Greatly appreciate them being here and willing to help so much!!
 
Still using the custom video skin George made fir me a few years back, it's superb and works perfecly. Also a shout out to Babis for making a custom version of his blocks skin with custom button banks so I can control my lights from the VDJ interface.
 
You guys have got it the wrong way around. What I meant (jokingly) was we should earn from it for coming up with the idea and testing it. :-)

I'll probably be debuting it on my Twitch stream tomorrow.
 
Videoskin is now waiting approval.
So it will be available to everybody!
