Topic: DDJ RZX + Two Numark V7s
I thought it would be cool to add two extra decks to my DDJ RZX but it turns out I ran into similar problems when I tried to hookup two Rane 12s.

So the long and short of it is I can use either V7 as deck 3+4 along with the DDJ RZX but as soon as I try to use both at once VDJ gets confused and no more midi events seem to work for the V7s.

I've made a five minute video to show what's going on.

If I use the V7s without the DDJ RZX they work together fine. It's only when used in conjunction with the DDJ RZX that issues occur.

I hope someone can help. The V7s are both set to factory default.

Dont have the devices to test, but could you try to do this...
- Assign 1st V7 to Decks 3,4 (same as you have it)
- Assign 2nd V7 to Decks 4,5 (you can manually type 4,5 if the Deck Assign drop down list doesnt give you this option.
- Set both V7s to Layer A

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately that exhibits the same behaviour.

Is there any way we can get some debug info out of my setup? It seems like this is a bug and internally it's not sure which V7 is which when they are both present with the RZX

Motorized decks have some limitations (because of a "multilayer" deck, having ONE physical motor/platter)

I will try to repeat your tests with RZX (did it have to be RZX? :P) and Rane 12's (as I don't have V7's) as soon as I find a table big enough to fit these 3 :P

Jokes aside, I don't think it's specific to RZX (RZX is just a 4 decks controller)
Most likely it's a limitation of the motorized decks themselves.

Anyway, I will let you know if a solution is possible.

Heyyyy, thanks for getting back to me :)

I've made a new video that's showing that the Ranes 12s are happy with RZX. Somehow it's just the V7s that don't want to work together with the RZX.

In my first video I demonstrated that the V7s happily work on their own together as long as the RZX is not powered on.

Bit of a weird one but it does look like a bug to me.

Hope you can help :)

Does anybody have any ideas about this?

c'mon guys... don't leave me hanging :) There must be a way to dump a debug log of what VirtualDJ thinks is connected and how its mapped? right? some sort of diagnostics log?

It looks to me like the two V7's confuse VDJ somehow and it no longer recognises which one is which when they are both connected.
