Hi everyone,
i have the performer i updated the drivers and firmware. I can not get the channel fx group the filter filter roll noise and flanger to work at all. Now they do work when not using vdj vdj is all i know and i will not use any other program to djing so what am i doing wrong can anyone help me please

Have you tried with the factory default Mapping (if using a Custom one) ?
Do you use the 4 Select buttons (Nr 23 https://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/hardware/rane/performer/layout/mixer.html ) to select and activate the Color FX ?
Are you using any other additional hardware at the time you try with the Performer (and which one), in case this hardware enables the fake_filter mode ?
Worth adding a custom skin button as fake_filter and see if it's on/off
See with the default Pro skin layout if the Texts below the Filter knobs in the Mixer panel are gray (disabled) or white (enabled).
Do you use the 4 Select buttons (Nr 23 https://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/hardware/rane/performer/layout/mixer.html ) to select and activate the Color FX ?

Thank you so much for offering some help,
before before we go any further I just wanna take a moment and say thank you so much for everything you're a huge part a virtual DJ in now that I'm digging my way back into this I'm finding more and more the things I'm looking to do or interested in you've touched designed made helped other people and for that I admire you so I just wanted to mention to you how much I appreciate all the help in this day and age we're always faced with the demands of clientele and other people people have forgotten how to say thank you so I just wanted to take a second and tell you how much I appreciate what you do.
I did wanna ask you your advice on scratching I just wanna be able to learn some basics that I can add well DJing at weddings it's primarily all I do I tried talking to some of my younger DJs and you never get a straight answer and they never wanna show you anything anyway so any recommendations you might have for me with that as well thanks..
Also just so you know I pulled up the rain performer complete feature walkthrough the video they put out was over an hour long and went over every single piece of the controller but of course it's with that other software I would've hoped that they did the same thing for virtual but hopefully somebody will put that out but you can take a lot of it and implement it into what we do here at virtual..
So now I have to learn how to map I guess the sample volume knob to the keypads. I also just watched the video and learned how to take the sampler volume and I can connect it to Channel 4 on the controller so Channel 4 could be the volume control for any of the samples.. Sorry I kinda got off base a little bit but once I start finding things that that are fun that I've learned I love talking about it,
so I did find out that the shift button allow me to use the channel fx 4's -pretty cool.
To answer your questions to me, do i use the 4 select buttons nr 23, well I was trying to learn how to use them, and I did find out how to use them, explained below. and yes i will use them all the time.
oh and Ive been using the blocks 2 deck layout, some badass guy designed them.lol dude I could only hope to one day have half the knowledge you have I am so happy I bought this controller the stems and all the advancements have brought the joy of djing back for me.
I just want to learn the new style of mixing on word phrases, and get better at quick mixes but for me and my clients I like to call what i want to do as medium mix were it is that you do not mix the song out after 15 seconds, so i did that once at a wedding and it of course was the brides sisters favorite song I mixed out of and there very upset looks i got well lets just say I now recommend to all my clients that we all do what I call medium mixing which is.... you get the meet of the song all the sing along parts and does not get faded out after 15 seconds and my clients love this explanation of this.
BUT- I still can not get the sample volume knob on the controller to work at all. (unless I try using the OTHER DJ SOFTWARE which I did try and everything works fine so to me it just tells me I have to set things right and they will work right) any time I play a sample from a pad, the sample is directly conected with the volume of the channel playing the song.
so say I'm playing - No hands on channel 2, and I hit a sample ...any sample off the pads well the sample volume and the song volume are one in the same bolth are on channel 2, if I lower channel 2's volume the track and the sample lower as well. again the sample volume knob should be the one thing controlling the volume of any sample.... as I understand it....Right.
so how do i fix this?
so please let me know your thoughts and I will try them all out and get back to you.

Short sweetened to the point I went to practice again today and the same thing is continuing to happen. I thought I had figured out how to trigger the effects, but I am doing something wrong for something is not working right is there anyone out there who would not mind helping me out at this point? I’ve tried so many different things. I’m getting more frustrated because I can’t get it straightened out, so I just walked away from it, but it’s real simple. I cannot get the channel effects to trigger properly or at this point at all. I thought I used it enough yesterday to figure out what I was doing went down there again today started to practice, which is always good and the second I tried to use , the sample knob and the channel effect nothing worked everything from the switch. Anything I tried to do before yesterday that had worked nothing was working today so after literally a couple of hours, I decided to step back and come back to the form here and hopefully get some help , if anyone out there has a little spare time either Sunday or Monday or anytime during the week I’d seriously appreciate it
