VDJ can already add FX to selected stems (i.e. just vocals or just inst).

I think he's talking about a new setting added on new Rane Performer firmware.
I have not tested (will do later) but I think it should work out of the box, as all it does, is to "swap" normal with "shifted" MIDI messages.
Anyway, after testing the new FW if any changes are necessary, be assured that they will be made and the function will be supported.
PS: Same "feature" is also added on Rane Four

The new feature in firmware will be available in next software update.
EDIT. Actually we pushed a silent update for Controllers in latest Public Build 8553.
If you run this Build twice the controllers Build number will advance to 8553.2147 (you should get this Build Nr. at the bottom of the LICENSES tab of VDJ Settings) and the Swap ACP/INST buttons should follow the Device's Menu setting
