Topic: Denon SC Live 4
Can anyone do an interface skin for the unit itself (Denon SC Live 4). I am looking for something like the Prime 4 modified or prime go extended because I need the video preview

I use the EGR extended skin on the Prime Go+ and having the video preview option on just slows down the skin even more and makes the waveforms all laggy. Would be even worse with 4 decks running. Have you tried loading the skin to see if it works on that unit?

When it comes to the Denon all in 1 units, from my experience its best to just stick to the stock skin. All other skins make the screen laggy and just un useable.

That is a bummer as I do a lot of video playback events, and I was hoping to use the SC live up front in DJ furniture like a Danny Max booth with no laptops. I would keep the laptop in the backline with my mic/audio rack. I am trying to present a clean aesthetic, and still do video playback. The default skin has no video window, so I can't see what would be presented to the audience. I've been running the Prime 4 extended screen with video with no issues. there is a little choppiness, but I do not mix by waveforms, I mix by ear, so it hasn't bothered me.

Kradcliffe I did try to use the prime go extended as a skin for the sc live, but I just got a blank skin.

Have you tried swapping out the generic skin with the Prime 4 one? Can't see how it wouldn't work as all these units are pretty much identical.

Denon SDK, that's used to "talk" and "draw" pixels on screen, can receive up to an X amount of data per second before it slows down significantly.
The default skin for those devices is an exercise in finding the perfect balance between showing useful information on screen and keeping a "good" fps rate.
Even if you create a skin with just 3 video preview windows, the refresh rate will be terrible, close to unusable.

So, while your idea makes sense, the limitations of the device make it impossible to achieve.
IMHO it would just be better to get a 14 inch USB C touch monitor to add in front of your controller with the right amount of tilt if you're after a "clean" look.

Do you think just the main output in a small preview would still be an issue. I don't need deck previews. i just want a quick visual to see if the screens are blank.
