Topic: Fluid Beatgrids
Kudos to the developers at VDJ regarding the new fluid beatgrid editor. I’ve tested it with a number of difficult tracks and it seems to work quite well.
A couple of comments;
- You should be able to batch process tracks and not be limited to do them one by one.
- Time to actually process a single track seems quite long. Using a competitor’s software, this process is almost instantaneous. So work to do here.

I believe the devs said the batch processing is coming.

Analysis was virtually instantaneous for me - 1-2 seconds on every song I tried.

@Herscr1
What are your computer specs ? (Processor, Video Card)

Quick question, for the fluid beatgrids , do we have to analyze tracks individually?

Or is it done part of the analyzing /song loading process?

In "OPTIONS" there is "keepBPMonAnalyzerUpdate".
Maybe if this is set to "No", all songs will be analyzed by loading (cause Analyzer has been updateted)?

In the past, it was very tedious for me to edit a flexible beat grid manually.
That is no longer necessary. GREAT!!!
First of all Thanks a lot for this! VDJ is and will be the best!
Just one option would still be important:
A ‘Shift All Anchor Points’ option.
With a constant beat grid this was & is possible .
I have assigned this to two buttons so that I can quickly intervene if a drum loop is slightly late.
adjust_cbg -1% & adjust_cbg +1%
Unfortunately this don´t work with the fluid beatgrid.
Sometimes even tiny delays in the grid are enough to throw the sync off slightly.
Some drum loops are also slightly behind. A tiny shift could then bring everything back into sync.
Sometimes you have to find a "beat-compromise"...
In the example, some are spot on and others are too early.
Without the Shift function, I now have to laboriously start editing the individual areas again...

So there is only a tiny gap left to absolute happiness.

With variable grid, it's not possible to move by x ms, as it would throw out all the rest of the grid.
But from what you describe, what you need, is to play with the variableBpmSensitivity setting.
As explained in the other thread, this setting sets the maximum distance (in ms) between an anchor and the actual beat position. You probably want to lower it if you'd rather have very precise anchor position and don't mind many anchors and a fluctuating bpm display.
