Hey hows it going guys. Im just curious, if you dont mind sharing the area where you live, what are some of the local bars offering for a gig? Im in the Dallas area and for the most part its been a race to the bottom. I havent done bar gigs in years, but the last time most bars were offering $150, with some offering a ridiculous $100 a night, which some DJs did end up taking.

Largely depends on where you are and the establishment itself.
Out where I am, the avg price for a night (10pm to 2am) is approx $400 CAD at a decent establishment. It could be even less depending on how well known the establishment is for that night, and how known you are (some newcomers for some places even accept "having the chance" as good enough).
Corporate gigs + weddings have always been the better paying source to me (at least twice that amount could be commanded for the same amount of time, and I'm lowballing with the estimate tbh).

When I started back in 2014, smaller local bars would pay between 150 to 250, clubs was in the 450ish range. I covered for a friend back like in 2021 and he said he would get paid 100 plus the bartenders tipped him on top to equal about $125. This was in the heart of a very well know psrt of town known for its night life. I was very surprised. I havent done a bar gig in years as I also focused primarily on weddings.
