Hi,
I am trying out a 3D sound card, its a Crystal Audio CMI8738/C3DX PCI card. When I change the sound options in Atomix to 3D card with headphones and speakers the sound is terrible. All I can hear is a loud hissing, kind of like static on a radio. I have tried this on Win98 and Win2000 with the same results. I have loaded DirectX 8a but with no joy. Any ideas? Or is it just that the sound card wont work with Atomix? Please if anyone can assist!

Try to mute the microphone & CD audio, if either of these are enabled you can get a very annoying hiss... (Go Control Panel, Multimedia, Playback...)
