Right now I am using a generic 16 bit sound card.
Can a 32 Bit or any kind of other "fancy" (i.e sound blaster or anything costing more than 50 bucks) sound card improve speed / sound quality?!

Quality for sure.......i use sb128 and sblive5.1 and i am great full that i have external mixer to minimize that small differences in sound my sblive gives me more clear sound and more surround.You can not hear such a difference if you dont pay atention but i made my own tunes in sb128 and when i played them in live the sound was different....A LOT:)

which generic card did you compare this to? how would the sb live compare with the philips acoustic edge or the audigy? how would it compare with true high end sound cards such as the Aardvark?
