Why r we limited to only three effects on screen? Why can't we have have at least five? Or maybe there's a way to add a shortcut that I don't know about. I think it would be neat to have like five onscreen. I don't know if this has been mentioned before but sometimes I get too lazy to go through the forums.

Yes, it's been debated since version 1.xx. Since the dev team made a fast access (drag'n'drop) for available plug-ins, it's very easy & fast to switch between them (if you don't have more than 30 of them in a map). Anyway you won't be using more than 2 at once so 3 is quite enough - I did mention a new feature wish to have banks for combinations of effects, to make access even faster.
