Hi all,
I've finally just got around to playing with the vdj video features and must say it puts a whole new dimension on things. I can't exactly say that I've been excited about playing on vdj since years ago but now I wake up wanting to spend hours on it! :)
I bought a 'instant' collection of music vids from ebay and I must say that most of the vids are pretty good quality (both sound and vid through my huge speakers) although many advised me otherwise.
Anyways now I'm looking for someone to possibly help me. I've been ripping the music vids into mpeg2 format and everything goes fine when I load them in vdj. I have hardware acceleration enabled in the video option (need to otherwise it take ages to analyse). Funny thing is though that when I load a video track into a player it doesnt take long at all to analyse but now when I load just a simple audio track it takes flamin ages to analyse! Would anyone possibly know why this would be? Please help..
Also another thing... I've been mapping particular functions of my xp10 to control the video features like the pitch slider being used to control the video crossfader. Problem I have now is that in particular transition modes its more obvious than others, that the limit of my pitch slider on the xp10 doesnt actually marry up with the limit of video crossfader. This presents the problem that when I slide the pitch slider to the very limits on the xp10 I can still slightly see the beginning/end of the transition. Its as if I need to slide the pitch an extra mm or 2.
I've thought about that problem and I was thinkn that this could quite easily happen to any midi controller. In my mind there must be a calibration set for any midi controller built into vdj to avoid this sort of problem.
Also, if anyone knows... is it possible to load a particular video fx with a shortcut. eg. Boomer_auto = B (keyboard) or Strobe_auto = S.
Other than that I'm away laughing... its mega fun!
Any help will be appreciated :)
Thanks,
Luke aka DJ Rids

Luke,
after you played one video, VDJ will give playing the highest priority, to make sure video and audio play smoothly. Therefore anaylysing songs take much longer than without playing video.
You could speed up analysing to go into config screen and Uncheck the activate setting on the video tab. Note that video will be switched off.
If your pc is capable you could set the speedload setting to 1 in the registry. If you need help with enabling this option, please ask, I will post how to do this.

Thnx for the input superstom.
I tried opening the registry and changing the speed load setting in the registry to 1, but I can't say that I notice much difference. The problem I am having is if I play only video from one deck to another, the system will run perfect. The current playing track doesnt seem to have an effect on the next video track being analysed/loaded. However if the next track is an audio track it goes so slow with the analysing process. If anything I would have thought it would be the opposite way around. The hardware acceleration option seems to be the key?

Make sure that VDJ is not running while you make the registry entry, otherwise it won't take effect and will be overwritten when you shutdown VDJ.
This definitely makes VDJ load audio files load more quickly when working with video.
