Topic: Transferring mixes to a CD

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I hope I have put this in the right topic:

How do you put a mix on a CD? I tried to do a mix for my sister - but was unable to transfer it direct to the CD as a mix. I know you can record to the hard drive - it got as far as that, but I'm not sure how to put it on the CD after performance. I had to go to Windows Media Player and just transfer the contents of the playlist to the CD. It seemed to put it on the hard drive - but I couldn't work out how to transfer it to the CD. Maybe there's something I need to click on.

Please forgive my lack of knowledge - I haven't worked with CDs on Virtual DJ before - i've done some good mixes on the hard drive, though.

if you have mixes on HD you can record it to CD using cd burning program like Nero, windows also has built in record program. just put empty cd in cd-rom and drop your mix (probably recorded in wav or mp3) to cd-rom at My Computer and you will be able to record it to cd by clicking File > Burn these files to CD.

But it's better to use Nero :) in case you have mix recorded in MP3 windows won't make audio CD i think.

i am inexperienced with virtual dj and recording but i got pretty good over the last few days because i have a little djaying backgroud ,my question is to elaborate on another guy's question reguarding the recording the mix tape format. How do i number my selections so i can go to any specific track when i do burn it to a cd...(also i don't want to lose the mix tape format (no spaces between tracks) just numbering them so it won't be recorded as 1 looong song)

first of all you have to record your mix as separate songs (settings in VDJ), otherwise you should cut your mix with audio editing software. Then you burn these files to cd without pause between tracks (in Nero for example). Then it should be like one long mix and radio will be able to read it as normal cd with many songs.

i'm looking in the config settings but i can't find the option for separate songs...(only splitting files) which creates separate tracks altogether in the recording menu config...if i can't find it what kinda editing software do recommend....I just make regular mixtap cd's for the car so i don't really need anything to elaborate...
