When I launch 3.2 I get a message:
"Direct X Sound Driver Error"

Direct X is a Windows multimedia component. You are getting this error because you haven't got the correct soundcard selected in Virtual DJ, maybe you moved your soundcard into asio mode? To fix it simply ignore the error, click the configuration button and select a connected soundcard, or use your primary soundcard if you are unsure.

I had the same problem. It was because there was another device using the same "usbaudio.sys" driver, in my case it was a built in webcam microphone. All I had to do was disable that device in the device manager and the problem went away.
