What sound card do you have? Have you selected in Sound Setup 4 channel output?

MY sound card is in the Rane MP4....so I am not sure what to choose from drop down menus....I have a reception to do this evening....I still can not get it to work.

I don't know that card, but I will presume it is at least 4 channel.
If you using mixer:
Outputs:External Mixer
Sound Card(s):4.1
Front output is left deck, Rear output is right deck.
If you don't use mixer than:
Outputs:Headphones
Sound Card(s):4.1
Front output is Master out, Rear out is your headphones.

Sound Card(s):4.1
Front output is left deck, Rear output is right deck.

i think you might need the "external mixer" setting. you select that, then chose your card from the dropdown list below. Then there should be another box below that to let you choose which output goes to which side of the mixer.

I have tried different setting still both decks plays from one side of the mixer.....
I have 2 hours left for my gig....I am stuck now!
I will try to reinstall the older version.

Is it possible to use a 3 or 4 channel output (for an external mixer) with the new virtual dj 4.0? as far as I know, it was possible with versions 3.4 and older. I think there was an option called 7.1 in the sound configuration, but not sure because I don't have access to it ;)
I'm asking this because I've read the VDJ 4.0 starters guide which dj-in-norway wrote, and the menus lack an option for 7.1 (or at least 5.1) output. So is it possible (as of today) to use a multi skin, an external mixer, and 3 simultaneous channels to mix in VDJ 4.0?
That was basically what I was wondering.
Thank you in advance:)

Yes, you can use 3 channel mixer: 2 channels for decks and 1 for samples.
