alright , you are limited to 5 minutes of timecode to demo it .
if your cd players alow you to ground the connections link the grounding posts from mk2 to decks
now the problem is that every cd player has a different native gain if the waveform is very large
it is because the cds are to loud , if they are to small they are to quiet
if they are to loud try boosting the cd in steps , of say 5 db
and if to loud lower in steps of 5 db
using a program such as audcacity
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
burn a copy of the disk at each level and try until you find the one at the right level :)
burn another copy of the right level your good to go
now ul need to update to pro but as you bought the mk2 your entitled to a
discount

Two questions:
1- Can somebody please either explain, or point me to a place that explains exactly what time code vinyl is, what it does, how it can be used, and why I'd want to use it? I know nothing about it, but see it all over the place. I don't use turn tables, but do have a DAC3, and a MK2, along with a Maya44 internal sound card. Pro user.
2- I see many users have the mk2 icon under their name. How do I get that under mine? I went to update my account, but didn't see how to add it.

choose dual timecode and
choose asio card
Select the 'Maya44 USBAudio ASIO Driver' in the drop down
-Click on the ASIO Config... button
---USB Tab - Device Maya44, checks in Output and Input, Sample Rate - 44.1kHz, Resolution 16bit
---ASIO Tab - ASIO Resolution 24 bit, System performance - Highspeed, everything else default
---Controls Tab - Same as Line 2 above.
---Close
-Config Timecode left and right (my settings are identical)
---Gain is about 15-20% from left
---Silence is the same as Gain
---Now I use the Vinyl so here are where things get different -
-----Vinyl Users - check in Software RIAA
-----CD Users - Software RIAA usually not necessary
-----Invert Stereo or Phase checked if you plugged things in backwards.
-----Turntable - obvious choices

OK, I understand how to set it up, but what exactly does it do? What is tcv for? If I run only mp3/mpg, is it pointless?
Now I know how to install my MK2 icon! Thank you for that.

timecoded vinyl is a special vinyl with code on it
it makes the software act like a real vinyl would when you take an action
ie speed it up , so does the software , backspin , so does the software
stratch so does the software exactly like you did it .
you can choose the modes you want ie software help to sratch
or no help for the hardcore turnablist :)
i use it with mp3 and video alot :)
