I am noticing that many hip hop songs have incorrect bpms often double what they should normally be. Why is this and how can it be fixed?

hip hop is hard sometimes to get accurate counts, the vocals and rhythms might not be constant enough or confuses the scan. Usually what i do is either tap it out (shut up) or if the song has an instrumental version that usually gets the right bpm.
feel frisky??? go ahead and match it by ear!
